Best Damn Race Offers Big Race Experience at Local Race Series

picture1

The Best Damn Race Series is taking things to the next level by offering RaceJoy’s advanced tracking and interactive race day features at all its races in the series – Cape Coral, Jacksonville, Safety Harbor, Orlando and New Orleans! With the addition of RaceJoy, participants and supporting friends and family have access to live phone tracking, GPS-based progress alerts at every mile, audio cheer messages, and immediate scored results.

picture2

Participants are able to sign up for the races within the RaceJoy app by clicking on the ‘Register Here’ banner as shown below. This automatically appears for RunSignUp registration events using RaceJoy. Races not using RunSignUp can easily add a banner to link to their registration.

picture3

This past weekend’s Best Damn Race Cape Coral was an example of a race doing it the best damn way! Race organizers showed their dedication to quality by providing us with highly accurate course maps, which meant that RaceJoy’s GPS-based tracking and progress alerts were extremely precise and the final finish time was within seconds of the official race-timed finish.

These updates are sent out at every mile and are an example of the Best Damn Race providing a big race experience at a local race. However, where the large, iconic race events rely on the timing equipment on the course to issue alerts, RaceJoy’s alerts do not require any timing equipment since they are based on the person’s GPS location on the course route and the time elapsed. All that is needed is the participant to carry their phone and an accurate course map from race organizers. Each alert includes information like current location, pace and estimated finish time.

picture4

In addition, the timer for Best Damn Race, Endurance Sports Timing, live streamed finish results data through RaceJoy as people were finishing the race. This meant that people had immediate access to their official finisher stats along with the ability to see how they did in relation to others in their age group.

picture5

There is something to the name “Best Damn Race” in which participants and their supporting family and friends expect the best race experience ever. We think they delivered and the response we’ve received tells us that others agree!

picture6

“… It turns out, I not only smashed my first goal, but I also PR’d finishing the race at 1 hour and 3 minutes! The venue was beautiful and very well organized, tons of food, all the refreshments you could want and a massage station. Very impressed as I’ve done a lot of mud runs and typically you get 1 free beer. I will definitely be doing another event! Cheers and thank you for ‘the best damn experience’ at the Best Damn Race!!!”

– Tracy K. – 10K participant, Best Damn Race Cape Coral

The Best Damn Race series is one that prides itself in giving a premium experience to participants. Whether you’re an elite runner, first timer, walker or using a baby jogger (with your dog), race organizers boldly want participants to have the best DAMN race experience. Every race entry includes a race shirt, finisher medal, bib, goodie bag, free food, free beer, a free massage and now, RaceJoy’s live tracking, cheer sending and immediate results!

We recommend that you check it out and see for yourself that this series really does stand behind its name by offering the Best Damn Race experience!

picture3

The Space Coast Marathon Weekend offers 26.2- and 13.1-mile options. The event attracts many repeat runners and the half marathon distance sells out every year. Race organizers do a lot to make sure their runners have a high quality experience, where every aspect of the race is thought through and provided for. From amenities like great food for everyone (not just the participants, which makes for a nice family experience) to the great race swag (like the Space Coast Marathon towels) to the advanced race day technology with RaceJoy.

If you’ve yet to participate in this event, the Space Coast Marathon is a bucket list race you should definitely add to your list!

RaceJoy creators, James and Shelly Harris, landed at the Space Coast Marathon Weekend on Saturday for the expo and made their appearance at the RaceJoy booth on race day.

picture5

We always love coming out to the race sites to meet RaceJoy fans and to cheer on the participants! And we’re not the only ones – almost 6,500 cheers were sent in RaceJoy by supporting family and friends to motivate runners!

While at the race site, we also enjoy hearing stories about what brought them to run and the challenges they have overcome. Many of the people we saw were some of the first to ever use RaceJoy.

Congratulations finishers of the Space Coast Marathon weekend! A special thank you to Thales Group and Running Zone for including RaceJoy at this year’s event.

Madison Marathon Ran with RaceJoy!

HomeLogo.png

Ever run a race and wish you had a little help from your friends or a way to motivate you through a rough spot? Well, that is what RaceJoy was built for and this last weekend’s Madison Marathon and Half Marathon participants made full use of it!

Picture2.png

During the Madison Marathon weekend, nearly 3,000 people used RaceJoy and more than 4,300 motivational audio cheers were sent real-time!

Ashley D. ran her first half marathon, using RaceJoy to connect with her daughter. Here’s her RaceJoy story…

“This was my first ever run, and I went straight for the Madison Half Marathon. I also injured my hip just before mile 6, and by mile 8 and 9 I was ready to quit – at the very least not able to run anymore. Just as I was telling myself to make it until help came around, a cheer was read that had come from my daughter – and it made all the difference. Although I had to continue walking, I was able to pick up speed, and complete the 13.1 miles within a reasonable amount of my original goal. Knowing they were there waiting, I knew I couldn’t quit. Thank you for making this available to us!”

— Ashley D.

Thank you Ashley for sharing your experience and congratulations on your first half marathon!

RaceJoy issued progress updates at every mile during the full and half marathon courses. Alerts included information like current location, pace and estimated finish time. More than 37,400 GPS-based progress alerts were sent at the Madison Marathon weekend. Now that’s a lot of updates!

picture3

Another Madison Marathon runner, in his 17th marathon, used RaceJoy for the first time last weekend…

I downloaded the app for the first time for a race this weekend. I used the progress report, cheers and tracking features for my family. It was great. I had no technical issues and I could leave my phone in the back of my belt pouch and still hear the updates and the cheers come through. This is a great tool. And the cheer feature would be awesome on courses where it is hard for spectators to get around or if you are at a race solo.”

Here at RaceJoy, we love hearing runners’ stories – share yours at rockstar@racejoy.com. And help us to spread the word by sharing your experience in the App store!
