We have released the start of the new Profile Page. This will evolve over the coming weeks to provide easier access to the relevant things that participants need and want.
Note the increased use of icons for easy browsing, the soft rounded profile picture, and the initials if there is no profile picture. Soon we will be adding quick review for your current and past races, as well as getting rid of the big buttons at the bottom and make everything context aware – clearing clutter and creating a more pleasant experience for participants.
Sometimes new users get created even though there is already a user in RunSignUp with a profile. For example, someone might have imported my registration in a race rather than me signing into RunSignUp and signing myself up for a race. This is actually a very common occurrence for Running Clubs who move to RunSignUp and import all of their members.
We now have an easy way to for a user to Claim those accounts. Just log into RunSignUp and go to your Profile page, and there will be a notice at the top of the page:
You will see a list (if there are multiple) users with the same email address. The list includes birthdate and Gender:
Simply click the “Claim Account” and it will be merged in. In the case of the Club Membership, this will now be assigned to you.
Participants can now Delete Sub-Accounts in addition to Making it their own account and transferring to another account.
Sub-Accounts get automatically created when a participant signs up themselves and others. For example a wife signs up her husband and daughter for a race – the husband and daughter are now Sub-Accounts.
When the daughter gets older, maybe it makes sense to have her have her own account – so the wife would click the “Make Own Account”. Perhaps the husband and wife get a divorce. The best way might be to click “Make Own Account”, and that would guide the husband thru the process of making his own account by sending her an email. However, the wife might not want to communicate with her ex and simply wants to Delete the account.
And yes, this was the specific request for this feature 🙂
This is the confirmation page. The user who is Delete is ONLY deleted from the Profile – they still exist in RunSignUp and that person can do the normal Claim procedures. Of course, the Deleted user would need to have a unique email address that was set originally and known to them to Claim it.
We have made a update to the system so users can now see their volunteer assignments directly from their RunSignUp profile.
Volunteers can click on the “My Volunteer Assignments” link to view their volunteer commitments and additional volunteer information like start time, end time, location and details:
The volunteer information is tied directly to the race volunteer settings. This means if Race Directors make any changes to the start time, end time, location or details- volunteers will automatically be able to view this information directly from their profile.
For runners who are on relay teams, it is now simple for them or the race director to get from their registration page to the team they are a part of. The team name is included and it links to the team page. This is especially convenient for Partners who have race series with many teams participating and questions coming in from team members. It also is a nice convenience for runners in relays, and will look especially nice when we complete the update to a new runner Profile.
We have added a new widget – “Edit Registration” as one of the widget options that can be created. This widget allows a race to have a webpage to direct people to who want to make changes to their registration.
With this widget on your site, runners can now go directly to their registration for the race. Before, runners had to go to their profile page, click on registered races, find the race and then finally get there after a number of clicks.
Participant self-management is one of the ways that your race can reduce headaches for you and vastly improve customer service to runners. You determine which features to allow a runner to have access to – refunds, deferment, bib exchange, event switching, changing answers to custom questions, resend confirmation email, etc.
If a participant is not signed up for the event, they get a page like the one below:
