Bib Exchange – Gift Registration Enhancements

We have made some enhancements to the way the Participant to Participant Transfers as a Gift settings work when team set-up fees or team member pricing is turned on for a race. (Note: The Participant to Participant Transfer for Refund settings are still same)

When a race uses any special Team Pricing options (under Participants -> Groups/Teams -> Pricing Set-up) the Participant to Participant Transfer as a Gift option works as follows:

  1. Original participant initiates transfer as gift through profile
  2. New participant receives transfer email with unique transfer link
  3. Due to the special team pricing settings, the new participant must join the same event and same team as the original participant.Gifting Team Registrations
  4. The new registrant can choose a different event or team during the registration gifting process.
    1. Only the event of the original participant is free, but they could choose a different event and pay the event fee.
    2. This also prevents the new participant from transferring into a more expensive event or different team type during the gifting process (since gifts are free to the new registrant)
  5. If the new participant wanted to join a different/more expensive event (and the race has event transfers enabled), they would be able to do so after completing the original gift registration process

When a race does not have any Team Pricing Options set-up, the Participant to Participant Transfer as a Gift option works as follows:

  1. Original participant initiates transfer as gift through profile
  2. New participant receives transfer email with unique transfer link
  3. The original participant’s event and team is pre-selected for the new participant
  4. The new registrant can choose a different event or team during the registration gifting process.
    1. Only the event of the original participant is free, but they could choose a different event and pay the event fee.
    2. The new registrant can stay on the team, remove their selves from the team or choose new team
  5. If additional participant management options are enabled, the new registrant would be able to make additional changes to their registration once the Participant to Participant Transfer as a Gift process is complete.
