We’ve been talking about the importance of having a mobile responsive site for a long time, and continue to see the trend towards runners finding races and registering from devices other than desktop computer. At the Yahoo Mobile Developer Conference recently, Flurry Analytics and ComScore presented that they expect Google to change their search rankings to favor responsive designed sites.
Our own mobile stats show a significant increase in mobile usage within the last year, as well: we checked the access stats to compare the last 30 days of this year to the same period in 2014 (mobile is in orange).
What does this mean for you, the Race Director? The mobile version of your site is virtually as important as the desktop version. From our end, we will continue to refine and enhance the experience of mobile registration!
